Dear Friend,
Awana
Clubs will soon be starting again at a church near you! We look forward to a new
Awana Club year and to see churches in our area use the tool of Awana to reach
boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. With that
comes our annual conference:
Awana Ministry Conference
October 4, 2008
First Evangelical Free Church
1375 Carman Road
Manchester, MO 63021
Register by: September 22, 2008
We are excited about the line up of conference guests that will
be with us this year. David Gibbs III will be our keynote speaker with music by
Mary Rice Hopkins. We have something for everyone in your church at our
conference so as an Awana Leader, bring your whole church family along with you
even if they don’t work in Awana!
Mary Rice Hopkins & Company will be with us
for our music and will also be holding a family concert at the end of our
conference day. All conference guests will be able to attend the concert free.
Celebrating 30 years of family music ministry, Mary has captured the hearts of
children and grown-ups alike. Her simple, yet profound melodies can be heard
throughout the world. Mary Rice Hopkins and Darcie Maze (Puppets with a Heart)
team up to make a powerful impact on today’s church. This teaching duo uses
puppets, live music, power point, object lessons, teaching illusions, and hand
motions to illustrate the Word of God. This will touch the heartstrings of all
ages. Please see the enclosed flyer!
Back by popular demand we are running a Youth Track
at conference for all high school youth. They do not need to be in Awana
to attend this part of our conference, this is open to all youth in your church.
Coach Todd Burden will be our speaker and is the founder of the Total Player
Academy and InBounds Ministries – an outreach designed to help God’s players be
successful in the game of life. Join him for sessions that deal with offensive
and defensive skills in the Christian life.

Renew your Awana Registration for 2008-2009 Club Year!
In early June the renewal fee invoice was sent to all Awana churches. This
renewal fee is due to be paid by September 30. No renewal packets will be sent
out this year. In late August you will be able to update your church records on
line to avoid entry mistakes. You will be notified when this is available.
Remember, registration is a two step process. Pay the registration invoice and
update your church records. Thanks for making this a priority at the beginning
of each club year. If you are not renewing your registration this year we need
to hear from you as soon as possible.
With the summer months we have found our support account falling in support. Can
you help? Did you know you can now support Awana US Missionaries through the
Awana.org website? The benefit to you is that the transactions are posted to our
support
account electronically, eliminating typos and other human errors. Just as
important, receipts will be sent by e-mail, reducing the number of lost
receipts. If you would like to donate electronically to our support go to
www.awana.org/give and follow the
directions. Thank you so much!
In July, we were thrilled for the opportunity God gave us
to have such a relaxing, fun-filled, memory packed family vacation with Matthew
and Michael in Nevada and Utah. We especially loved hiking
in the scenic hills, rocks and trees of Zion National Park and in the Hoodoos of
Bryce Canyon. HOT–but seemed bug-free! What a gorgeous part of our country that
shows so much of God’s creativity! Trust
you also had a change of pace this summer and ready for another Awana year of
ministry.
Serving
together,
